Yedda took the kids (all 4) out for a quick walk around the neighborhood this morning....

Today was the first full day with all 4 kids in the house.. Jonah continues to do well and seems to have gotten used to the crib.  Both he and Ezra (and mom) are getting over their jet-lag and are mostly on Maryland time…. today we did a lot of playing and exploring new toys and such. 

 

In celebration of his arrival… and to make sure they had additional excitement…. Jonah got Lucas and Mi-ra their first 2-wheel bikes…. Mi-ra isn’t quite ready for hers yet though it’s pink and she has fun pushing it around… (will post pics later)… Lucas had a good time with his…

Welcome Home

The crew made it home today safely... Jonah is doing amazingly well. No crying and lots of smiling and laughing.

Korea Mon 7/19/10

Today we woke up really early to go over to the Social Welfare Society to meet the Case Worker and then be taken to the foster family's home to meet Jonah. We got there a bit early, but arrived to find out that they had been trying to contact us at the wrong hotel over the weekend to let us know that they needed to push the meeting to the afternoon. (Note: there are 3 hotels in Seoul all owned by Lotte: Lotte Seoul, Lotte City, and Lotte World) After calling the foster family to see if they could possibly accommodate us this morning since we were all there, they were ok with it and we were off. Jonah is super cute, very tall, has tons of hair, and we were told isn't very fussy at all. Hopefully our trip home will be easier than expected. Lots of questions were answered about what he likes to eat and his sleeping schedule and habits... and then we were off back to SWS.

After lunch, we decided to go to N Seoul Tower (or Namsan Tower as it's also known). It stands on top of Namsan Mountain in the city. There is a park that encompasses the mountain and a lot of locals go up and down the mountain for exercise. We, on the other hand, took the cable car up to the base of the tower :)

There were amazing views of the city and you don't get a good idea of how populated, crowded, and built up the city is until you see it from this vantage point. Unfortunately Yedda forgot her camera in the car and Yerin's battery died as soon as we got on the cable car. At least we had our iPhones, so we can upload pics later when we get wireless.

Korea Sun 7/18/10

An fountain in Namdaemun. We had to go through a serious of underground tunnels to get to this side of the road. They had to put the underground tunnels in because the intersection is so large and pedestrians were getting killed by the drivers:

This is only just one of the streets/alleys at Namdaemeun. It's one giant street market selling all sorts of wares... anything from a vendor who sells only tape (all sorts, all colors, all sizes) to yarn to knock off LV and Coach wallets to shoes and clothing:

Korea Sat 7/17/10

Day 2 in Korea. After having a very tasty brunch of Sundubu (spicy soft tofu stew) at one of the many restaurants in Seoul, we went over to Dongdaemun to do some shopping. We picked up a few hanboks for the kids. After dodging crazy drivers on the Seoul streets, we headed back to the hotel and crashed for a few hours. Here's some pics from today:

So a quick update. Ezra and I actually flew in to Chicago a day early and got to meet some cousins!

We had a great time too bad we couldn't stay longer! I unfortunately didn't take many if any pictures. I've been really bad about that lately I'll have to do better hopefully Yerin will be better than I am and post some pics.
Thursday we meet my mom and sister in Chicago then flew out from there to Korea 13 hours and Ezra couldn't have been better! He just slept, ate, and played a little.

We got to Korea on Friday even and had quite the fiasco of trying to get two bassinets next to each other and all three of us next to each other.... nearly had a melt down.. coming home with two babies, one needs me so he can nurse, the other I have to be with since I'll be his new mom and he'll probably be grieving. The ideal seats for our situation were taken and so the woman at the ticket counter did the best she could and got us all in the same row..... a better arrangement that we originally had (one bassinet) and two seats about 15 rows back. I can only hope that Jonah is as sweet as Mi-ra was coming home, but I'm not holding my breath about that.
Today, Saturday we went shopping in Dongdaemeun it was actually pretty productive, got the kids some new hanboks (Lucas, Mi-ra, and Jonah- just in case he doesn't get one from his foster family or the agency). Ezra gets the hand me down that Lucas had. Ate tons of yummy food and then Ezra and I crashed about 5:30pm... didn't get up till 10 and he went back to sleep again... I think he's better adjusted to the time change than I am! Tomorrow will probably be another day of shopping , Then we get dinner with the Hwang's , one of our friends from the days when we lived in Fairfax towers! Monday we'll go to the agency and then get to see the baby! Very excited and nervous about that! I'm hoping that he warms up to me as well as Mi-ra did.

Korea Fri 7/16/10

Ezra did fantastically on the plane ride over to Korea. The flight attendants LOVED him! Grandma also had a great time playing with him and holding him! Here's one of the pics of the flight projection as we were approaching Seoul. Because of North Korea, we had to divert really far south before going over Japan and approach Seoul from the Southeast:
